The House

The Milkwood house is portrayed in a 1914 painting by Egon Schiele called "Old Houses in Krumau", now exhibited in the Albertina Museum in Vienna. It stands on a foundation dating back to the 15th century. A three-floor home dug into a rock escarpment overlooking the Vltava River, Milkwood Artist Residence provides artists and guests the top-floor apartment, complete with kitchen and bathroom, and full access to the large first-floor terrace facing the river. Permanent resident artists live in the lower apartment. Located on one of Cesky Krumlov's historic cobblestone streets, Milkwood is five minutes' walk from the town center.
